25th Annual And Still We Revise SCBWI Conference Recap!

Wow. I don’t know about you, but my head is still spinning in the most delicious way from this past weekend’s 25th Annual SCBWI MD/DE/WV Conference! I must confess, though. Sometimes I have a hard time doing conference recaps because I’m so fired up to WRITE and CREATE and REBOOT that I just want to move forward with sleeves rolled up and fingers curled over my keyboard.

Which to me, is the sign of a really excellent conference and this year’s was no exception!

Besides, how can you summarize three days of awesome in one post? So I’m going to mimick last year’s conference recap by sharing #stillwerevise Tweets shared throughout the weekend. But first, I want to give out a…

… to our hardworking planning committee who did an AMAZING job! So thank you, thank you to:

  • Kathy MacMillan and Sue Poduska, our fantastic regional co-advisors
  • Rebecca Evans, Illustrator Coordinator
  • Veronica Bartles, PAL Member Coordinator
  • Sarah Yusatake, Events Coordinator
  • Tracy Gold, Member Coordinator/Social Media Coordinator
  • Lindsey Pope, Volunteer Coordinator
  • Mike Karg, Critique Group Coordinator/Conference Registrar
  • Suzanna Banwell, Conference Critique Coordinator

Many thanks as well to those who volunteered their time throughout the weekend by timing critiques, staffing the welcome table, helping to announce presenters and all the other behind-the-scenes work.

Many thanks to the entire staff at Maritime Conference Center! I must say that I LOVED this year’s venue and their assistance and help was top notch. (And the FOOD!! Amazing!)

Also, a special shout-out to Tracy Gold who was unable to join us for the most precious reason ever … giving birth to a beautiful baby girl! Congrats, Tracy!

And now, on with some #stillwerevise tweets!

And finally, one of my favorite tweets from the weekend…

And one of the best ones!!

I hope you had an amazing time at this weekend’s conference and that you’re just as excited to get back to work today with renewed spirit and energy. Thanks again to all our volunteers and the hardworking staff at Maritime for an excellent event!
