We are so glad that you are planning to join us for our 2018 Annual Conference on March 17-18 at the Maritime Conference Center! …We have compiled several important announcements and reminders about additional opportunities available to conference attendees.

Critique slots are filling up fast! Critique Registration is NOT FINAL until you submit your manuscript following the directions at the link below and receive confirmation from the Critique Coordinator. Submit immediately to reserve your spot! If you register for a gatekeeper critique but do not submit your manuscript while slots are still available, you will be given the option to select a local author or illustrator critique instead and have the difference refunded, or have the amount refunded entirely. Bookstore Stocking Requests Due by February 9
SCBWI Members who are registered for the conference can request that one title written, illustrated, edited, or designed by the member be stocked in the conference bookstore. Members with a book in the bookstore may also participate in the signing on March 17 at 4:45 PM. Book sales will be handled by Books with a Past bookstore. Traditionally published titles will be ordered from distributors. Authors of self-published books may bring up to 10 copies of one title to the conference if they register through this form. Book sales for self-published authors will also be handled by Books with a Past, with proceeds to be split 60/40 between author and bookseller. Once you have registered for the conference, check your email for more information, and make sure to fill out the form by February 9 to participate in the booksale and signing.
Headshot Sessions Available for $40 Each
What a deal! Author photo sessions will be provided by Kaylee Newcomer Photography during the 2018 Annual Conference at the Maritime Conference Center on Saturday March 17, 9:30am to 4:30pm. Each session is 10 minutes long and includes up to 10 professionally edited images delivered in an online gallery to each participant one week after the conference. You must be registered for the MD/DE/WV 2018 Regional Conference to take advantage of this opportunity. First Looks Panel Submissions Due by March 1
During our First Looks Panel on Saturday, March 17 from 11:40 AM – 12:30 PM, illustrators Raúl Colón, Laurent Linn, and James Ransome will give open feedback to anonymous illustrations submitted by conference attendees. Conference registrants, please check your email for submission instructions.
Promote Your 2017 or 2018 Release in Our Conference Slideshow – Due by March 10
We will be running a slideshow during the conference of upcoming events and featuring 2017 and 2018 books by our members and our presenters. This offer is open to any SCBWI Members at any membership level who are registered for the conference. Conference registrants, please check your email for submission instructions.
