Get out your calendars, folks, because it’s time to make sure everyone knows about the fantastic events SCBWI has coming up this fall!
Is it really September 9th already? For me, the summer has passed in a beautiful blur between Camp NaNoWriMo’s frenzy, us renovating a fixer-upper townhouse at Ocean City, (writer retreat, anyone?) a lovely two-week vacation, and recent race-cation at Disneyland in order to keep my title as “the crazy running lady.”
But now we’re getting closer to fall’s official start and I’m ready to get back to reality with sleeves rolled up and fingers itchy to write. Plus we have tons of great SCBWI activities to look forward to, as shared by our lovely co-regional advisor, Kathy MacMillan in a recent email blast!
For those who might have missed that, here’s the full scoop:
At the national level:
SCBWI Book Blasts
Promote your 2016 book with SCBWI! For $25, you can create a customized page featuring you and your book, ebook, or app. Your page will be hosted on scbwi.org and will be included in a 6-week promotional push from October 10-November 18. Go to scbwi.org/bookblast-info to get started!
SCBWI PAL Reading List
The national office will be putting out a Winter Reading List in November, supported by a marketing campaign to make consumers, teachers, librarians, and booksellers aware of the list. Published and Listed (PAL) members should be receiving an invitation via email sometime this week to submit one title to the list.
