Away We Go! book release by Chiêu Anh Urban!

Happy Friday, everyone! Great member news today:

Congratulations and a mighty woo-HOO to Chiêu Anh Urban for the release of Away We Go! A Shape and Seek Book, a novelty board book for babies through preschoolers, Scholastic Cartwheel.

Away We Go!

Filled with planes, trains, and automobiles, AWAY WE GO! teaches basic shapes through bold designs and inventive die-cuts on every page. Triangles become sailboats and hearts become airplanes as each spread reveals a different mode of transportation made from bright colors and geometric shapes. The creative challenge of this board book is to find the vehicles in the shapes and to find the shapes in the vehicles.

With special search-and-find shape-based games throughout, children will love learning and searching for basic shapes in this clever collection of things that go!

Urban demonstrates the remarkable versatility of shapes, using them to create an array of vehicles. … readers will finish this book with a good sense of both shapes and methods of transportation,” –Publishers Weekly

Here’s a Coffee & Conversation Interview we did with Chiêu in the past.

There are also some wonderful free Away We Go! shapes and transportation activities and party printables on her website for download: Go to her Fun Stuff page!

Happy writing and drawing, everyone! 🙂

About Laura Bowers

Laura is a writer, runner, reader, runDisney addict, and blogger at As The Eraser Burns, Joyful Miles, and Write, Run, Rejoice. In the past, she's been a waitress, telemarketer, cook, real estate agent, and during her college days, a costumed character at holiday parades. (Memories of being terrorized as a candy cane still haunt her at night.) At the age of thirty, she pursued her dream of being a writer. Her first novel, Beauty Shop for Rent, a “Steel Magnolias for teens,” was inspired by a rusted sign by a charming old house, and now, she can honestly say that writing is a thousand times more rewarding than being a candy cane!
