April Woo-HOO’s!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

I hope you’ll forgive us blogger ladies for getting April’s Woo-HOO’s out late – we’ve been crazy busy with writing, kids, and for me, my son’s upcoming graduation. (Sniff, sniff, where has the time gone?)

Anyway, please join me as we celebrate our awesome regional members great news!

First up, congratulations and a mighty woo-HOO to Kate Bradley-Ferrall, for having two, (not one, but TWO,) articles in April’s issue of Appleseed Magazine!  The theme of that issue is dogs, something close to her heart.  She only had to look as far as my feet for research!

One article is called “How’s Tricks?”  The second one is “Teaching Any Dog New Tricks.” Plus, Kate has another article coming up in a fall Appleseed’s and one more winter!

Congratulations, Kate, and be sure to let us know about your upcoming articles! 🙂

The lovely Chieu Urban also shared a link to this fabulous feature by Pizzazzerie for her book,  Raindrops: A Shower of Colors:

Check out this incredible party if you need a little color on this dreary day!

Awesome, Chieu! 🙂

Last but certainly not least, congratulations and a mighty woo-HOO to regional member Jeri Smith-Ready, for the recent release of SHINE, the conclusion of her SHADE trilogy!

No other love has burned so bright

Life can change in an instant, and no one understands that better than Aura. It’s been almost a year since her boyfriend tragically died. She’s finally letting go of Logan’s violet-hued ghost, but not her search to uncover the truth about her past.

As the first in a generation that can see ghosts, Aura is convinced that she has a connection to the Shift. She’s trusted Zachary, ever patient and ever by her side, with all that she knows. But when the government threatens his life in an attempt to learn Aura’s secrets, she will stop at nothing to protect herself and the one she loves…even if that means betraying her own heart.

“Jeri Smith-Ready has concluded this series in the most beautiful, perfect way possible…books like the SHADE trilogy make it really hard to read any other books. I compare the character development and complexity of other novels to the likes of these and they pale in comparison. These are books I’ll be revisiting numerous times in my life. I’m not ready to let these characters go, nor will I ever be. The raw emotion, sadness, pain, and LOVE in these books is paramount.”— Makeshift Bookmark

“The strength of Smith-Ready’s books lies in her remarkable characters. There’s such a resonance there, a heightened sense of self-possession that makes everyone truly believable.”–Bibliopunk

“The way Jeri writes is like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket or listening to your favorite band; it’s like coming home.”— Jaime, Two Chicks on Books

I absolutely loved SHADE and SHIFT so I can’t wait to dive into this third book! Congratulations again, Jeri, and best of luck with SHINE!

Happy writing and drawing, everyone, and if you’ve missed our recent post about May Mid-Grade Madness, be sure to check this out!
