Happy Illustrators Month!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

For the month of December, we’re celebrating our wonderfully talented regional artists by sharing interviews with published illustrators, such as the lovely Susan Detwiler, our regional illustrator coordinator who will be featured on the 6th!

She’s done the artwork for several great picture books, including:

Big Cat, Little Kitty

Pandas’ Earthquake Escape,

and One Wolf Howls!

We are also featuring our region’s budding unpublished artists . If you’re interested, please send Edie Hemingway jpgs of one or two of your illustrations and a short blurb about your background, your favorite medium to work in, and anything else you think will be of interest. Send it to mistylodge@verizon.net. Can’t wait to hear from you!

Happy writing . . . and drawing! 🙂

About Laura Bowers

Laura is a writer, runner, reader, runDisney addict, and blogger at As The Eraser Burns, Joyful Miles, and Write, Run, Rejoice. In the past, she's been a waitress, telemarketer, cook, real estate agent, and during her college days, a costumed character at holiday parades. (Memories of being terrorized as a candy cane still haunt her at night.) At the age of thirty, she pursued her dream of being a writer. Her first novel, Beauty Shop for Rent, a “Steel Magnolias for teens,” was inspired by a rusted sign by a charming old house, and now, she can honestly say that writing is a thousand times more rewarding than being a candy cane!

  1. Great idea! It will be so nice to get to know the region’s illustrators better!
