Jack Reid Scholarship Guidelines

In memory of longtime volunteer Jack Reid, the MD/DE/WV SCBWI Region offers two scholarships (one to a writer and one to an illustrator) to attend the 2-day July conference (a $195 value). Writers wishing to apply should send up to 10 double-spaced pages of a work for children. Illustrators should send up to 3 jpg selections of their work. A cover letter, stating reason for applying, should accompany all entries.  Applicants should include name on cover letters, but not on actual manuscripts or illustrations.  Submissions will be judged anonymously by the scholarship committee.

Please note that applicants must be SCBWI members, living within our MD/DE/WV region and not currently represented by a literary agent.  The manuscripts or illustrations submitted should not be under contract or previously published.

Please email entries to Edie Hemingway at mistylodge@verizon.net by the deadline of Sunday, June 12, 2011.
