Here’s this week’s . . .
REGIONAL AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT!
Congratulations and a mighty woo-HOO to Kerry Aradhya who has recently signed on with Stephen Fraser of the Jennifer De Chiara Literary Agency!
The first page of one of Kerry’s picture book manuscripts was read during the first page panel at the summer regional conference. Stephen Fraser loved it, so she followed up by sending him the whole manuscript. He agreed to represent Kerry, and she is thrilled and grateful to SCBWI!
(I love hearing this, seeing how we’ve been discussing first pages!)
Kerry has also started a new blog recently called Picture Books & Pirouettes. She reviews picture books about dance and include other posts about integrating dance and children’s literature. Check it out by clicking here!
Congratulations, again, Kerry. HOW AWESOME! I look forward to seeing that first page. 🙂

- “I read and walked for miles at night along the beach, writing bad blank verse and searching endlessly for someone wonderful who would step out of the darkness and change my life. It never crossed my mind that that person could be me.”–Anna Quindlen
Have a great weekend, everyone. Let’s be our own person!
Congratulations, Kerry! I’m so happy when I hear something significant, like signing with an agent, came directly from one of our conferences!
Congratulations Kerry! This is such great news!!
Congratulations Kerry!
Thanks, Edie, Susan, and Lois for the congrats. I love SCBWI!!
