Spring Festival of Children’s Literature

“Literature for the Ages” is the theme of the April 23-24, 2010, 28th annual Spring Festival of Children’s Literature at Mountain Ridge H. S., Frostburg, MD. The high school is located off Route 40, via Exit 34 of I-68.

Featured authors and illustrators are Barbara Reid, Brian Pinkney, Helen Lester, and Laura Malone Elliott.  Ten small group sessions will round out the two day event.  Register at the Children’s Literature Centre Web site or e-mail with questions or to request hard copy of flyer:  clc@frostburg.edu or 301-687-3133.

Personal note:  I have attended this conference several times and also presented at a small group session and can definitely say that this event is always top quality, a friendly atmosphere, and a great value ($68 for both days, if you register by April 13).

Also, before the full swing of the Festival, there is a Children’s Hour available for children who are interested in watching an author presentation. For more information on any part of the festival, you can visit our mentioned site, email, or call. We have a special offer this year: Bring a Friend in 2010! If you register with a friend, who is new to attending our Spring Festival of Children’s Literature, then you receive $5 off your regular registration price.

I’m looking forward to seeing many new faces, as well as some long-time friends of the Children’s Literature Centre!

Also, this year Dr. William Bingman is retiring. So come celebrate his retirement with us!
